A quick reply. I think Bluetooth is still not up and running in KDE 4.1. I could be wrong but I think this is one of the things not yet there. Worth checking.

    on http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/rele...ooth%20support

"Bluetooth is not supported in Kubuntu 8.10 because KDE does not yet support the bluez 4.x stack required for compatibility with the kernel used in 8.10. A fix for this is being evaluated as a post-release update. (Bug 280997) "

Any up dates to this? we are coming up on 9.10 and was just wondering if there is a kernel mod or pach that will make it work. KBluetooth4 0.3 shows the "Audio Device" but is disabled.

Thanks for the info in advance.

bluetooth works in 9.04, i depends on your version of kde i belive that you need 4.2 for it to work w/ bluez , but you may want to use the blueman manager as kbluetooth4 is kinda lacking in options atm, you can read a post about it here

        http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3103587.0

check to make sure that you have bluez installed. as you will need it to use either kbluetooth or blueman. you may have to upgrade to have support for it.

also, i have a bluetooth headset and have gotten it to connect to blueman but i have not tried ne more then that with it ..

Blue tooth does not work in either 9.04 or 9.10. Numerous posts with no answers on the subject, numerous results in Google bemoaning the illusion of bluetooth support in KDE. It works fine in Gnome. If you aren't going to provide a functioning bluetooth, take it off the menu. Mark it broken?

Something, anything. Why pretend? You irritate people who believe it works and waste time trying to get it to work. Not good for the KDE image you know.
