Open Office 3.0 - assoicate file help and no sound with pps

Hi Folks,
I followed Toad's excellent "How to" to install Open Office 3.0 on my HH machine with KDE3.
Thank you Toad!
I kept 2.4 just because. But I would like OO3.0 to open OO files. Right now when I click on OO files they open with OO2.4
The second thing I'm missing is the ability to play sound with pps files. HOw can I fix this.

First, I think it is not wise to install software that is not in repositories, because it is not there for a reason. The reason why ooo3 is not in the repository is afaik that the ooo2.4 is actually Novells go-oo with some extra features.
To set file associations, open konqueror, go to settings->file associations and change all openoffice associations.
By the way, does anybody know why you still have to set file associations in konqueror? I mean, it is kind of strange as konqueror is now mainly a web browser.
