    [Solved] Amarok 2.0 won't play anything.

    Finally managed to install Amarok 2. Worked fine the first evening but since then Amarok wont play anything for me. Infact, it even refuse to put my tracks on the playlist. Guess it's my fault as usual but what have I done?

    Ideas?

    Strange that it worked once -- some setting must have changed when you shut down or logged out.

    Idea #1:

    Run it from the Konsole, and watch for error messages.

    Idea #2:

      Where are your tracks? CD? Hard Disk?

      I think that Amarok 2.0 can't play CDs yet. Have a look at http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3100168

            I'm not sure what they all mean, but it would appear that your video / X server is involved in the problem -- maybe time to review your graphics hardware and driver combination.


            EDIT: This link suggests it is an Nvidia driver/KDE 4 bug, for driver 177.xx, and is fixed when you change to the 180.22 Nvidia driver:

              Ok. From a small problem to a bigger...

              Seemed like I had no nvidiadriver so I followed this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=968307

              Couldn't find any version named 180so I took the newest, Number 177.82
              When I restart... Surprise!!! Kubuntu won't start.
              The traditional kubuntulogo comes up, then a lot of text ending with:
              /dev/sda:
              setting advanced powermanagement level to 0xfe (254) [ok]


              then... nothing...

              I feel completely lost. What do I do now?

                Made it!

                All thanks to this post http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3082808.0 i managed to find the default setup for xorg
                Nvidia still doesn't work yet but Kubuntu is back on track and Amarok 2 works fine.
