    Wireless setup help (unconventional problem)

Ok, so first off, I'm not exactly new... But... I have a unique problem.

Basically my Kubuntu partition died, and I reinstalled, but the problem is that I can't set up my broadcom wireless adapter. Now normally that wouldn't be a problem... except that about 3 months ago my mother tripped over a wire breaking my usb thumb drive... and my ethernet card. The problem lies in the latter... I can't access the internet to use apt-get... So I can't exactly download the drivers conventionally, or the fwcutter (I think thats it, I haven't done it in years, so please forgive me). PLEASE HELP! Tell me where I need to go, what I need to put on my external, anything. I just need this to work. Thank you.

Edit: I forgot to meantion, this is Kubuntu 8.10. My computer is a Gateway and is pretty old, its a 320M...

PS I would prefer not to have to get a USB ethernet adapter. So methods that are noninternet based are appreciated

I just bought a new internal ethernet card on eBay and fitted it. It cost £4.00 including postage. (€4 or $6)

Problem being this is a laptop, which is why this is so difficult. Believe me, if it was a desktop... It wouldn't be a problem...

Edit: Upon searching my house I found a Wired USB adapter that works, Hopefully this solves my problems...
