Newbie here - Kubuntu -Too much ram?

    Hello all :]

    I'm quite new to linux.
My friend told me about kubuntu so I decided to try it out on my new computer,
I burned the .iso onto a disk and all that jazz.
My only problems are that it is saying that I dont have memory hole remaping enabled.
I went to bios and enabled this.
Then on my 2nd go on trying to install kubunto 8.10
It tells me that I am having "appeture over 4 gig"
I asked my friend and he says that it means I have to much ram.
    (I only have 4 gig)
He said that the extra 96 ram might push the kernal over the limit?

He also mentioned that there is a special kernal to download.
But he didn't know where to get it.

    Any ideas?
And is this even my problem? Too much ram?

    Thanks in advance :]

    -Patrick.

It wont let me even install kubuntu. All it does is go to the "page" with the big bold words "Kubuntu" and the image and the sliding blue bar. Then it goes to a black screen saying "aperture over 4 gig ignoring"

      =/

You are going to have to set your BIOS up correctly. Take a few minutes to read the post I linked.
