    Kubuntu and a laptop+docking station

I have never been able to get a docking station and my laptop to get along. I can load kubuntu with no problem. but as soon as I plug it into my docking station, I have no screen output.

I must be looking in the wrong places.

Anyone have any advice to offer?

Re: Kubuntu and a laptop+docking station

      http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-574917.html says, amongst other things:
Hi, I do have access to a dock. I believe it is the same one that you are using (D/Port Advanced Port Replicator). The external keyboard, usb mouse, network, and monitor all seem to work fine. The only gotcha is that I have to press Fn+F8 (the button with the "CRT/LCD" sticker on it) to tell my laptop to use the external monitor after I attach the laptop to the dock. If I don't press this, I just get a black screen with no mouse access.
      Does this help?
