hi i did find a post about it on ubuntu forums but it does not make sense to me sorry still a newbie can anyone do a complete step buy step for me please please i really want the web cam working in skype

A few Google clicks and a search at Ubuntu Forums indicates that you'll have to compile your own driver, as per this guide:

It's prolly not an attractive project for a Linux noob -- sorry.

But, if you will take your time and follow the instructions step by step, it should result in a working webcam.
