    Blank pages while browsing

    I have recently installed Kubuntu 8.10 and accessing net by Konqueror. While loading some pages like www.orkut.com, it takes some time and then a blank white page appears. At the bottom there is a line saying page is loaded but i cant see anything on the page.. many other pages are opened just fine.(eg. gmail, rediffmail, google etc.)
    What should i do?

    Re: Blank pages while browsing

    That page seems to work just fine in Konqueror for me.

    Perhaps another browser (such as Firefox) is in order?

    1.) K-menu -> Applications -> System -> Package Manager (Adept Package Manager)

    2.) Enter log-in password

    3.) Enable the additional repositories using step 5 from this guide:
    http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfec...ubuntu-8.10-p2
    (Replace "gedit" with "kate")

    4.) Open a terminal (K-menu -> Applications -> System ->Terminal (Konsole)) and type:
    "sudo apt-get update"
    "sudo apt-get install firefox-3.0"

    Hope this helps...

    P.S.: This giude - though originally designed for the previous version of Kubuntu, 8.04 - might also prove helpful for getting a number of programs up and running:
