I just tried the wine tutorial on winehq.org for installing iTunes and everything ran according to their instructions, but the installer crashed anyways. Are there translation layers other than wine that are worth trying?

Re: Has anyone had any luck using iTunes with Wine?
depends on what your trying to acomplish, in your case something like Play on linux might help you to install itunes, btw most of these programs need wine and just set up custom settings per program.Mark Your Solved Issues [SOLVED]

Re: Has anyone had any luck using iTunes with Wine?
I had troubles getting IrfanView to run in Wine. Then I found someone's post and they said to copy the .exe file to the C_Drive folder and run it in Konsole from there, instead of where Wine installed it. It worked!
