atheros 802.11b/g WLAN doesnt want to co-operate

Good evening everyone!

I need some more of your indisputable wisdom and experience; I really purchased a HP dv7-1135nr and am running 8.10/kde 4.1 on it (and it looks GOOD!!!), however, i need help on two things;

1. How do i get the built in webcam working? (HP Pavilion WebCam with Integrated Microphone)

2. I have an orange lit LED for my wireless (atheros 802.11b/g WLAN) but so far, i have not been able to find any info on the various forums to get this to work. I have tried using the Knetwork manager, but, i am very new and uneducated about all this. All i know, is that when i check my network manager, there is no indication of a wireless connection. It is a tad bit frustrating.

I am still a noob at this, so any and all assistance would be welcome!
