    Finding newly loaded programs

I loaded a couple programs using Adept, I cannot find anywhere to open or execute the programs, I went to add\remove they are not there, I did a search and canot find it, yet is shows it is loaded in synaptic and adept. How can I find the programs and use them?

    Thanks

        Open a console and type:
        Code:
        morse
See if it doesn't start the application. If it doesn't, note any error(s) reported.

Many apps are command line and you have to open them in terminal. Sometimes if they should have an icon it won't show up until you log out and back in.

This is definitely a missing feature. When I was toying around with a bunch of distros there was one (I don't remember) which would highlight newly installed programmes - thought it was a cool feature but didn't pay it any more attention.

Did a quick search on kde-apps.org but no joy.

Can you still create a desktop link to it?

I used to have to open Konsole every time I wanted to remote in to work using rdesktop. So I created a little desktop shortcut that ran the proper shell script and from that point I simply had to click on it instead.

Maybe using the menu editor in KDE 4?

                  Re: Finding newly loaded programs

                  Yep that does it...

                  Right click your K menu
                  Select Menu Editor
Select the category you want the link associated with
                  Click New Item button
                  Name it
then where it has space for a command, simply paste in what you type in Konsole to get it running. Now you have it in your menu... you can drag it on to your desktop from there if you want.

That's how I got Firefox back...
