So many problems and yet i still love kubuntu :D

Hello guys

I just recently installed kubuntu and i have quite alot of problems with the installation, but even so i love it

My computer is a Acer Veriton 7600GT with a Parhelia 128MB graphic card installed.

My first problem came when i tried to install kubuntu....i just hangs when the spash screen with the logo comes...then it stop reading/writing to the hard drive......well i got around that my using the options to disable everything under options.

Now when i boot it will still hang, the only way i can kubuntu to boot is bt pressing escape and select, safe mode and then select the normal start after the menu loads.

then i wanted to install the driver for linux for Parhelia 128MB...so i went and downloaded the driver from the homepage (mtxdriver-installer-x86_32-1.4.6.run) but when i try to install using the guide from the this page(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=729040) i get an error.

Well these are kina the problems i am facing right now....perhaps one of you can help me out, or send me in the right direction.

So far i must admit i am in love with kubuntu....and the more i learn the better this OS seems

I would try a different approach.

For the moment forget about installing your video card and force your video card to use vesa.

This is kind of mentioned at http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3099811.0 question #2.

You will see that dibl has to use the command: xforcevesa

See if this works. If it doesn't then please come back to us.
