Im a real newb to Kubuntu (and Linux). I have installed it, had some trouble with installing catalyst but now that seems to work aswell, cant get compiz to work, but my real problem is as follows: when logging in i can hear the logon sound (but it breaks) and after that i cant get any sound in the music player or youtube nor anywehere else. I have Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L motherboard with a realtek HD integrated sound card. WHat could be the problem?
Edit: meanwhile i have installed the realtek hd drivers...its even worse now, everything is grayed out under sound options and even the startup sound is gone
