explanation of files and dir in /home (SOLVED)

Sorry to be a pest but can someone tell me what these files are that are in my /home dir?. Specifically the ones that have random numbers and letters, they are all 0 bytes. But the one I would really like to to know about is "Pictures.tar.gz". I think it's something like an executable in windows but I really don't know. When I dir the /home it says it is not a directory. Also, in Konsole it is in red and the other dir are in blue. it's 38M in size so if I could remove it without any bad thins happening I'd like to.
    Thanks

"Specifically the ones that have random numbers and letters, they are all 0 bytes."

Artifacts - trash - crash results. You can safely delete them.

Pictures.tar.gz is an archive (compressed) file. You can right-click on it and select to open with Ark to see what's inside of it.
