Well, you'll need to burn a LiveCD of Kubuntu to begin with. If you don't want to do that, then you'll either have to get one from a friend or order one via the Kubuntu ShipIt site.

Of course, if you're unable to burn a CD and unwilling to wait to get one for free from Shipit, you can buy one from a commercial vendor for a few bucks ($1.95 plus S&H from my favorite CD seller). The irony of all this is that if you were already running Linux, you could just mount the downloaded iso without burning anything.

I was unaware of Grub_For_Dos, which makes it possible to install from windoze without burning the iso. Has anyone tried that approach. I can't try it myself because I'm winfree and my wife won't let me touch her machine!
