Hi All,
After a lot of grief using MS Windows a friend of mine advised me to install Linux. I looked on-line and found Kubuntu 8.1 Intrepid Ibex. I've got a 5 year old Compaq Presario 900 with a 500 meg processor and 256 MB ram. It ran fine only terribly slow but very stable (the only thing was that I could not run more that 1 application otherwise everything froze) I was advised to put 1 GB (the maximum) memory in. I've done that now and I am sooooo happy
My friend told me after upgrading my memory I have to set the virtual memory on 3 times the ram so on 3GB. My question is: how do you do that and is this really necessary?
thanks very much!!
Martijn
By the way I am slowly understanding more of Linux but if I have asked a stupid question forgive me.
