    Installing Allegro

i am not new to allegro, but i am slightly new to linux, and kubuntu also.
    my question is
I cant quiet seem to find a way to INSTALL allegro on my Linux system, I know the Windows version is a pain to install, but if someone could run a step by step thing to install, it would be appriciated.
    Thank you.

    Re: Installing Allegro

I don;t use allegro, but here is what I would do

    1. Open a terminal: [alt][F2] konsole
    2. Install synaptic (the Kubuntu package manager, adept, is terrible, IMHO). In a terminal (Konsole), just do "sudo apt-get install synaptic"
    3. Launch synaptic from the menu, and search by package name, get all allegro packages (including the -dev packages, useful to develop against the library)
    4. From synaptic, install build-essential (search for it and install if it's still not installed for you)

This should get you going I guess ...
