I did a brand new install today of 8.0.4 from dvd. Went fine. After it finished installing it wanted to apply updates, which I did. After it installed the updates it said there was a new version of the distro and did I want to update. I chose Yes, waited all day while it downloaded all 980 files. It did the update, cleaned out obsolete files and restarted. When it comes back up it starts loading, then I get a black screen with "NO SUPPORTED MODE, H: 75.4 Khz, W: 60.3 Hz"
I searched the forums and found similar errors saying to go to Monitors and Displays inthe Systems menu...the thing is, I cannot get to the system menu because it never kicks into kde.
My machine is an older machine (Pentium 4, 2 gigs of ram, not a SATA drive IDE I guess, ATI video card). 8.0.4 seemed to run fine and I was able to start up with no problems.
Thanks
