    Remote shell?

I'm not exactly what you'd call a total newbie, but pretend that I am

The question is : can I access my desktop shell remotely?
My desktop/server is running an apache + php server,
vsftpd for a ftp server to access my files remotely.
I also like the ktorrent web interface.

Now as more we get, the more want, right? Is there a way to access my shell (let's say bash) from a web browser from anywhere? Is it possible?

P.S. vnc is not what I want. I only need the shell.

    Ah, you mean this?

    :-)

I think in general, you want ssh over the web:

    Make sure you use https!
    Cheers!

I think most people use ssh, I just put webmin on my server though. Really useful and can be accessed from the internet at https://your.website.com:10000/
