    I am a first time user of anything linux... using Kubuntu 8.10 ... how do you install firefox... step by step please

    For the latest version, simply find Adept (your software repository), and then search for firefox. Simply choose to install it, and you should have it! It's that simple!

      If you are a first time user, you will need to know that there are also repositories that, for legal reasons, are not set up by default generally for legal reasons, as they contain packages that cannot be included as default. Stuff like Win 32 codecs and the ability to play encrypted DVDs, mainly because someone, somewhere, claims a patent, however dodgy that patent may be.

      I won't overload you at this stage, just get yourself a bit familiar with your new, free, OS, and then come back on this point, or any other aspect you need some help on.
