    printing support

Just upgraded to K Desktop Environment Version 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2). plugged in my HP1018 print and it appeared to be recognized and set up. tried to print some documents & status window said printing stated, & printing successful, but , not actually happened with printer. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same effect. Interestingly, the system appeared to be able to communicate based on finding model/serial number.

    This is a USB printer.

Not sure how to even start troubleshooting.

    appreciate any help

    Re: printing support

Try using the CUPS utility to remove and re-install it. Open your browser, and in the URL address line enter

    http://localhost:631

Then click "Manage Printers" and "delete printer" to remove it.

Then back up to the top menu and "Add Printer" to add it.

And if that doesn't work, take a look here.
