    upgraded to 8.10

I had 8.04 and upgraded to 8.10. All is it should have done. After the reboot: Kubuntu loads, but when the login screen should come there is just a black screen. When I press ctrl-alt-F1 I come in TTY1 (can go to the others ass well). From there I can login. When I run startx it says it is already running.

    What can I do?

Have you tried ctrl+alt+backspace? It restarts X.
If this is not a case try killing X and starting it again,
To kill you have to write:
    Code:
    sudo kill 6465
    I hope it works.
I'm not sure if X has always the same PID but it would made sense.
