Cannot cennect to WWW

I used WUBI to diwnload Kubuntu 8.10. It will not connect to the WWW. My system says Kubuntu is connected by ethernet - not true - it should connect usng my 2wire wireless DSl modem. When I select the added 2wire connection it seems to very briefly connect and then dies. The browser does not connect. Thank you, in advance for your help.

I think it's a bug: 259278
I had similar problems with my cable (FTTH) connection, but not anymore)
