    SOLVED!!! Sandisk Cruzer U3 4GB

    Hey guys ...me again

I tried to highlight the movies on my flash and delete with alt del but they highlight disappeared..so I right clicked and deleted them....again they are filling up the memory as before. Should I just keep reformatting it each time? or should I try to install a trash bin from the SanDisk site?

    Thank you

    Catherine

you used alt+delete? I believe it should be shift+delete.

          You're blonde? Really?

If it's of any help, if you start Konqueror and on the Menu bar select ->Settings ->Configure Konqueror, on the top Behaviour selector which pops up are three boxes which can be ticked or not, one says Show Permanently Delete context menu entries which by-pass the Deleted Items folder and Ask confirmation for Move to Deleted Items folder and Permanently Delete.

I'm a bit of a wuss.... i tick the first and third ones.

No problem, that's what the forum is for

You could also try what aged hippy said and use Konqueror instead of Dolphin to view the files, if that would make it easier.

Great I did that..I'll try loading a file on the flash and deleting it!

I've follow suit and ticked the first and third as well!

Glad to have been able to help a bit.

... after all, CVPunk did all the hard work, and toad provided the humour last night.

                    LOL

don't know if it was necessarily hard work... was a little confusing though. There should be a way to see that hidden .trash file, which is automagically created on usb flash drives when you delete files.
I am still trying to figure out how to see that.
If I have any luck I will let you all know.

Just a quick question while you're here?

I was wondering where I should start to take lessons on how to?

I don't know much about computers except how to run software..but I do want to learn this in order to try to find fixes on my own...any suggested sites or perhaps here where I can start from the ground up?
                        THANK YOU

Ah... I just checked out the "Useful Tips for Newbies go here...

                        Looks like a great start
