    Installing missing drivers

I have just loaded kubuntu and am a total novice at this. Everything seems to work fine except I cannot get my wireless internet connection going.
It is a broadcom wireless. I have downloaded the 'tar' file from their website and got it onto my desktop but now what? How do I install this driver into my system?
    Please help!!!!

What Broadcom chip? Open a Terminal and input:
    lspci
Copy and paste the outcome here.

        The command isn't i(india)spci, it's l(lima)spci
