I went to the Dell site and looked up the specs for the Dimension 4600. You do not have a PCIe slot. Only PCI. It does have AGP. It does have only a 250 watt power supply. The card you listed in your original post won't work in this computer.

that is confusing from what you found out at the Dell site it doesn't have a PCI slot but then it does have a PCI slot and it has a AGP Slot?

It has PCI slots, but does not have PCIe slots. That card is for PCIe.
