changing firefox to online as default?

I just install Kubuntu 8.04 and somehow when I start Firefox it is in "offline" mode and will not browse. When I click the offline box to delete the check mark, firefox browses just fine afterwards. How do I make firefox start in online mode as the default?

If you open it and open your favorite web site, then do Edit > Preferences > and click "Use Current Pages", that should set it to open as a browser, I would think.
