This is my laptop: http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/b2b/da...15b4aad33c.pdf
Ok, here's the jist. I installed Ubuntu, during the installation i had to disable acpi fo rit to install. Once it was installed i was having major problems with playing video and my audio was stuttering horribly. So after a couple hours of googling and playing with pulseaudio and my video driver i was able to play video but the stuttering problem was still there. I found out this was a wide spread issue with Ubuntu, so i formatted and installed Kubuntu. During the installation i had to do the same thing, disable acpi for it to install (acpi shouldn't be related to the audio problem, i just thought it was worth mentioning) and when i booted up everything was running smooth. I didn't have to tinker around with my video properties in order to get it running. But when i tried playing a video there was no sound and when i tried playing just an audio file it stutters forribly. I googled around a bit more but i can't seem to find a solution. I've tried setting everything to ASLA audio, i'v tried using different media players, i've tried setting the audio to different channels all to no avail. What is my problem? Do i need new drivers? If i do where can i get them? I'm pretty nooby with linux atm so detailed fixes would be very appreciated.
So to sum things up the main problem i am having right now is when i play mp3's or any other audio file the sound stutters/freezes until i restart and when i play a video file i have good video but no audio.
