    grub

Had a nasty bug in XP and formatted my c:. Had grub sec#1 installed, which mounted my other drive with grub sec#2, which gives a choice of OS. Forgot to save sec#1 and cannot remember the procedure.
    Anybody knowledgable on this?

    Re: grub

You just need to reinstall GRUB (using root--setup--quit commands).
You'll have to do it from your Kubuntu Live CD

How To GRUB Methods - Toolkit
    http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3081671.0

Start up the Kubuntu Live CD session.
    Open K > System > Konsole.
    Type
    sudo grub
    and press Enter.
    grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
That gives you the partition Kubuntu is in, some specific (hdx,y); put that next here:
    grub> root (hdx,y)
    grub> setup (hd0)
    grub> quit
    $exit

Exit out of the Live CD session and reboot to test it.

(Note the space after root and after setup. (hd0) is with a zero, not an "oh.")

      Thanks! I´m back in business.
Have a hard time finding an easily installed driver for my Pixma iP5000.
Do you have tips on that too?

Ha! I don't have even a clue! What is it, a printer?
But, if you post that as a new topic, you'll probably get more leads than you can handle.
Glad you got the grub-thing fixed, kar!
