noob needs help installing vlc player - FIXED - thanks Aysiu

    Hi all,
Im trying to get the VLC player. I've tried "sudo apt-get install vlc" and get:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
vlc: Depends: liba52-0.7.4 but it is not installable
Depends: libaa1 (>= 1.2) but it is not installable
Depends: libid3tag0 (>= 0.15.1b) but it is not installable
Depends: liblircclient0 but it is not installable
Depends: libmad0 (>= 0.15.1b) but it is not installable
Depends: libmpeg2-4 but it is not installable
Depends: wxvlc but it is not going to be installed
    E: Broken packages

So I tried Adept, but got "commit would break packager" error. I know VLC works with a wide veriety on distros, they even have direct downloads on their home page (but not for kubuntu). Can it work with Kubuntu 5.10? If not, is there anouther simple program that can play a wide veriety of audio and video? Thanks.

    Maybe you have conflicting repositories.
Get a fresh sources.list here, and try again:
