    Emptying out the Trash [Solved]

as usual, i went to trash bin to empty the trash - "empty the trash" was in black...when i click on it, i get "kde error" - "the file at (location on desktop) does not exist. When i open up trash folder to view, is empty...same thru Dolphin.
I've tried throwing some other stuff in the trash and they empty out fine except for the same error stating that this particular file does not exist. ??

When that happens to me, I open Konqueror.
(If you need to do this with root privileges, use Konsole and
    kdesu konqueror
--I can't recall if you need root.)

    Navigate to
    /home/your_name
    View (tab at the top).
    Show hidden files.
    Navigate to
    /home/your_name/.local/share/Trash

    where you'll find two folders
    files and info

The “bad” file will be in one/both those folders.
Manually delete the contents of those folders.
(Delete just the folder contents, not the folders themselves.)
    Close out.
    Check it.
(When stuck, sometimes, restarting X sometimes helps:
    ctrl+alt+backspace
or restarting the PC may help shake things into place.)

    EDIT added:
I haven't tried kcontrol when that happens:
    Konsole
    kcontrol
    Privacy
then click the button at the bottom to clear things out, which also clears the Trash. Perhaps kcontrol would delete the sticky file, I don't know.

worked ! (konquerer) no pass needed
BTW - i had tried with k-control and the privacy clearing doesn't include trash items (at least is not mentioned in list)
      Thanks Qqmike !

        Re: Emptying out the Trash

You're right -- kcontrol > Privacy cleanup does not include Trash (and I confirmed by testing, just to be sure that Trash is left out).
        and,
Glad you made the manual Konqueror route work!
