How Do you start onboard wireless NIC on a Live Cd?

I'm a real newbie

I would like to know the commands on how to start my on board wirleless NIC with a live CD.

So if someone could please relpy step by step instructions on how I can surf the net with a live cd and with a wireless connection it would be greatly appreciated.
