Kooldocs + Screenlets lead to Reboot. [Solved]

    Friends,

    I think I broke something ... again
Been playing with Kooldocs and Screenlets today and all of a sudden my desktop reboots by itself when I login

The Kooldocs settings I tried to duplicate was from http://www.kde-look.org/content/show...7b9c3e03d126b5

Can anyone please help? How do I get back in in order to uninstall?

Running Kubuntu 8.04 (dual boot with Vista :P)

Should I opt for Grub and tried a previous succesfull boot??

    Thanks for the Help.

Re: Kooldocs + Screenlets lead to Reboot.

    I would experiment.

In a normal boot there is an option for a "console log in"

From the Boot you can go into Recovery Mode which offers (1) dpkg to repair broken packages (2) root to drop into the root shell prompt and even (3) Try to recover xserver.

There is no harm and will be no loss to try booting into a previous kernel.

If at the end the problem persists you make be looking at a complete reinstall.

Re: Kooldocs + Screenlets lead to Reboot.

      Thanks arochester,

It was actually quite simple to resolve, I did it as follow.

      - Booted on default kernel.
      - On the Welcome / Login screen I selected "Menu" - "Session Type" and "KDE 4".
      - Logged in and removed Kooldocks.
      - Reboot and "voila" no more problem.

I have to say that the KDE4 looks awesome (don'y know how I never tried to look at it before)

Again thanks for the help, it is reassuring for this noob that I can tweak and play and if it breaks the support is there.
