noob can't get desktop to load - fixed

Hi,
I just installed kubuntu 5.10 "Breezy Badger" on an ecs (elitegroup) G 732 laptop; p4 3.06, 1024mb ram, ati mobility 9000. Install went fine (I thought), all modules load "ok" on boot, but after login and password I get a brief summary with date, time, no warranty, etc. and (name)@kubuntu:~$.
No desktop, no idea. I'm sure it's obvious, but I don't know Linux at all. The live CD works fine. any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Josh,

All you need to do is add the desktop.

From the terminal just type

sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

Should get you going.
