I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 and I'm trying to set up my Epson PM-A700 (Japanese) printer/scanner/copier.
When I plugged the printer into my laptop, it correctly identified it as PM-A700 but it won't print. I was able to get the scanner working with xsane but the printer did not work. I got the error "client-error-document-format-not-supported." I followed the instructions on this thread:
http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=5392.0
I executed "sudo foomatic-cleanupdrivers" and deleted the PM-A700 from System settings > Printers and tried adding it back; however my printer isn't listed as one of the options. I tried using PM-A900 but that didn't work.
I found this website (Japanese) with the drivers but I have no idea how to install it.
http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux/spc/DL2.do
Can someone give me some guidance on what to do next?
