Help! Kubuntu 8.04 on Dell Vostro 1200

Hi,
Just new to Linux system. God a Dell Vostro 1200 Laptop recently, everything works fine in Windows XP/Vista.

I just loaded Kutuntu 8.04. Some hardwares can't be functioned. (Sound, Fingerprint reader, Camera)

In these three, sound is my concerned. It show the speaker icon on the task bar, and even I started "Amarok", it plays the music files, but there is no sound there. Could anyone give some instruction?

First off, are you on KDE 3.5.9 or KDE4.x??
Also, do you know if the audio chipset is RealTek or something else?
