Kubuntu as guest in virtual box.

I've been happily playing about, but am still very much a beginner.
When I install Kubuntu with Virtualbox I'm asked which OS to choose.

I choose the latest linux kernel (?) that is offered,
but should I choose debian (also offered) ?

What's the difference?
