little popup windows on mouse over.

When I put the mouse over an actiive minimized icon for a program on the task bar an information bar pops up and hides half the screen at the 480 resolution i'm using (because i can't get the resolution right)

Can anyone tell me how to shut that little notification (information) pop up to stop popping up ... (Kbuntu)

should be the following...

alt-f2
kcontrol
desktop -> panels -> appearance
uncheck "enable icon mouseover effects" and "show tooltip".

but what's the problem with your resolution?

Thanks, Nothing wrong with my resolution now. I got it fixed. The problem was an nvidia card and the lack of understanding on my part of how to use the configuration window for the monitor and video card.

My resolution was so low that the windoow was way off screen and the mouse was so jumpy that I couldn't control the window to find the administratoor button.
