    Installing Matrox proprietary video drivers

I have a Matrox Millinium g450 dual head agp card.

Ok, i downloaded the Matrox_driver-x86_32-4.4.0.tar.gz from the matrox site these were listed as the linux drivers. Im fairly sure they are binary as the other LINUX driver had source in its name. When i clik on Ark wants to extract it. So where do i go from here?

Im sure ill need these drivers as even playing just something like 3d chess is slow and choppy so i know theres no performance coming through. Just enough to run the desktop. I also know this card isnt very high performance so i shouldnt expect much from it but I should get better than what iam.

One thing Im concerned about is it looks like the newst drivers (the one I DLed) are 2 years old from 2006.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Holy smokes I can help a new guy

Here's a site I used to install my matrox driver for my P750 card in Gutsy.

I haven't played with compix or stuff like that yet, but at least I got my screen resolution the way I want it.
The site goes in great detail on how to load the driver too, you just have to look around and he has links to new drivers too.
