    Why won't GProFTPd start?

I installed GProFTPd on my laptop and all worked like a dream, but since I usually take my laptop with me, I installed Kubuntu on an old Pentium II with 64mb RAM and installed GProFTPd, but it won't start, nothing happens at all when I click on the icon in the System menu.
What did I do on my laptop that I have forgotten on the P2?

Have you rebooted your Tower since installing?

You might try opening a Konsole and then starting it from the CLI. Sometimes there are errors that won't be sent to the GUI, but will be displyed on the commend line.

          I tried and got this:

          No protocol specified

          (gproftpd:2157): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0

But the same error showed up on the laptop where gproftpd DOES work.
