apache2 install

I have done a standard install of kubuntu, set up my proxy so I can get to the internet from konsole and konquerer, done all updates and upgrades
apt-get install update
apt-get install upgrade

everything seemed to go OK,
On the course I went on I was shown how to install a LAMP stack, but have failed at the first hurdle!

apt-get install apache2

I get the following
Some packages could not be installed, this may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using an unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of incoming

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package that should be filed

The following information may help to resolve the situation

the following packages have unmet dependencies

apache2 depends : apache2-mpm-worker (=2.0.54-5ubuntu4) but it is not going to be installed or
apache2-mpm-prefork (=2.0.54-5ubuntu4) but it is not going to be installed or
apache2-mpm-perchild (=2.0.54-5ubuntu4) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

It looks like your system doesn't know where to look for all of the Apache system. Try searching these forums for "adding extra repositories" first.
