64 bit AMD

My father has an AMD 64 with 2 GB of RAM max. I hear that 64 bit processors need at least 4 GB of ram before they become more productive. Should he install 32 or 64 bit Kubuntu?

No, that is false information. 64-bit Kubuntu will work just fine on that system.

I'm running the 64 bit on mine with 2GB and my swap file almost never gets used.

I tried on my machine (2 GB RAM) both versions, and the difference in performance is huge. I would strongly recommend you 64 bits.

you could tell the difference easily, cuz it was significantly faster
