    How to open an RPm file

    I downloaded a game of the linux website and it is a RPM file. What are the steps to open this file.

      You can load an RPM using a program called "alien"

        Actually alien converts the .rpm file to a .deb file.

        Then, if you're lucky and it doesn't have unmet dependencies, you can install the .deb with dpkg or kpackage.

              What?! And all this time I thought otherwise, based on something I had read. Well that shows to go ya, you just never know, even when you know ...
              Now I'll be looking all the time for the references where I got this misinformation.
