Firefox3 and java?

Seems the firefox java will not work

I tried this before I realized it was for firefox 2xx



sudo ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.06/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so



How do I get java to work?

Uhm... I'm not sure but try this:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

If it still not work, reinstall java.

First step, with FF 3 open, install plugins - it will get it from the sun site.

Go to a site that requires java, it will tell you that you need the plugin.
Then it will find the plugin and install it.
Then close FF and open again and it should work.

I had the same problem and it works fine now.

Thats the thing though.....it never find the plugin, even though I installed as you said. I even installed java on the system as well.

try searching in Adept for Sun-Java6
install Sun-Java6-jre, Sun-Java6-plugin, and the other dependencies. (you don't need the -doc unless you want it)

you will have to watch the install because you will get to a point when you have to accept EULA.
