    Encripted DVDs

    Hi
I want to play commercial dvds in Kubuntu.
I am using kaffeine and asks me to install libdvdcss, which is already installed - through adept and console.
I have gone for vlc, xine all of them. I have done sufficient research.

How do I play encripted dvd's in Kubuntu?

    Thank you

I had read that before - and followd the steps - I think there is a bug on my kubuntu 8.4 on the desktop. Because I can play dvds on my laptop running the same version of kubuntu without any problems

        Try the KLC Player.
Kaffeine has a 'dead link'...in it, when you try to get libdvdcss.
An 'Error 404'...page not found, right.

        This is the correct web-address.............

        http://videolan.org

Read what's there...... they will suggest using KLC.

        I just did that.

KLC works...with a bit of a fiddle. (Can't explain 'how'..at the moment, not in Kubuntu.)
But, if you have a DVD handy, when/if you decide to use KLC Player...give it a go, and see what happens.

          An update.
Try clicking on the VCD button (in Kaffeine)....and, follow what happens.
I did, and I can now play commercial DVDs (using the DVD button)...in Kaffeine.
