Which checksum would i use with kubuntu

Ok im a newbie to linux, ive downloaded a copy of kubuntu but id like to know if i need to check the iso using a checksum to make sure if its the same file it was when it was uploaded

First of all welcome to the party (almost)

Checksum is good prsctice.

One another thing, although maybe outdated:
burn your cd at the lowest possible speed as that can avoid some issues while booting from the CD later on.

yeh ive read about burning the cd at the lowest speed, i just cant find a checksum, or would i use md5 or sha1sum

I think it is md5, but don't quote me. It has been a while since I installed from a CD.

Like which checksum do I use? or i just cant find a checksum or something similar.
