when trying to install, usb1-1: device not accepting..

Hi, I removed the partition Kubuntu was on (to try the new Fedora Core 5, Which I dont like), so I decided to reinstall (Kubuntu) , but im having a problem, when I put in the DVD (I downloaded dapper-dvd-i386.iso abecause I lost my old DVD that I burnt about a month ago) I get the menu asking if I want to boot live or install to hard drive, if I go to install hard drive it says

"blah blah ok booting the kernel"

    Then

usb1-1: device not accepting address 2 error -71

so, first thing I tried was removing all my USB devices, now it doesnt do it but the install just stops at "Ok booting the kernel".

I have checked the ISO, all seems fine, reburnt a couple of times But nothing seems to help.

Any help much appreachiated as Kubuntu has been my fave distro ive tried so far (im currently finding the one I think is right for me, and so far Kubuntu has been the best)

Oh yes and I checked google, I found a lot of results for the error message, but not with "Kubuntu" in the same search string, so I thought rather than finding something only partially relevant ill ask about here were its total-kubuntu

@Daleus: Have you checked that the burned CDs were correct? The (K)Ubuntu CDs have a file that contains the md5sums of all the files on the CD. Thus, after you have burnt the CD, you can check the md5sums of all the files before attempting to install. Check this wiki page. Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you how to do the check from windoze, but it does have some references which might tell how to do that. I don't know whether that's you're problem or not. Can you boot from the live-CD?

@GuS: The fact that you get the same error message does not neccesarily imply that you have the same problem. In your case, the DVD is probably good, but you suspect a problem with your motherboard. I suggest that you check Launchpad and see if this is a known problem.

Indeed i din't say "hey, is for that 'usb' error that my SATA disk is not being detected by Kubuntu". I saw that i have that same error, and the "problem" with the MB is apart. So maybe that error happen in this mother of MB too. Could be a relation too... many posibilities... so..........

I always read the forums and bug reports. Please do not asume what you don't know

        Same problem http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=4127.0
But like i say, maybe USB error is a common problem with this MB.... thats all.

        Cheers

        Cheers.
