      Hang on

They mention intel driver and i can see on system settings -> monitor & display that my driver is i810.

How to get the intel driver?

Abir, it sounds more likely that your monitor (or, better still, the Graphics-card you have) can not handle the 1024 x748 resolution you're trying to reset it to.
Especially that Graphics-card. If it can not be set to 1024 x748, it is why your Screen Resolution got thrown back to 640 x 480...on a Restart.
The right driver was installed when you installed Kubuntu.
Which is why you can get ONLY 800 x 600.
The only other way to get around your problem...is, to buy a Graphics-card, with better Screen Resolution capabilities.

But my monitor spec says it can handle 1024 * 768 with 68 refresh rate.

          And I also had 1024 * 768 in windows.

            Some more information:

I installed fedora 9 a few days ago and experienced the same there.

do you have a nvidia or ATI videocard?
Then i suggest to use the ENVY program, it installs automatic and you get a nice officiel settings panel from nvidia or ATI
And your 3D power is present

No I have intel 945GC onboard video card.

I think this 800*600 is not that annoying . But please tell me if you know any solution.

reboot, when you see the grub message press escape and go in de safe mode
                  Choose prompt and then type

                  dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

There you should be able to change the resolution and set all possible resolution
