I am thinking of switching over to Kubuntu 8.04 from another kde distro. Will I need to reformat etc or will the Kubuntu installer respect the already existing partitons. I have 3 partitions on a 40 Gb disc - all of which are linux ext3. Thanks.

Re: How easy to change over to Kubuntu
If you desire to keep the existing linux OS already installed, you will need to create additional partitions. If you don't care about the current OS, then yes, the installation (using the Kubuntu LiveCD) will use the existing partitions you already have. The root partition will be formatted prior to the installation. If you have a separate partition for your home directory, you should have the option to format or not to format it for the installation. If it is formatted, you of course, loose all personal data from the other Linus OS.Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
