    Lost menu bar

I installed a plugin into Firefox and when I did that my menu bar disappeared. I have the green update icon, which normally sits on the menu bar, presently up in the top left corner of the screen.

How do I fix this specific issue or, alternatively, I do I set KDE back to its default settings?

    I've tried
    kwin
    kicker
    kdesktop

    I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE 3.5

Do you mean the panel or the K menu or something else?

The bottom panel that shows the applications presently running, has KMenu and the clock on it.

        Re: Lost menu bar

If you mean the panel where your taskbar, systray, kmenu, etc reside then maybe this will help:
        delete: file:///home/yourname/.kde/share/config/kickerrc
and re-login. That should generate a new panel / kicker.

./kde is a hidden file so you will have to activate "view hidden files" in dolphin / konqueror-->view.
